Some evenings the garden just goes quiet. The last bit of gold slides behind the trees, and a small bird seems to stay behind on purpose. The Solar Bird Light was made for that hush—a plump little visitor perched just above the leaves, waiting for dusk to turn its sunny chest into a lantern. It looks like it landed a moment ago, head tilted, curious, keeping watch while the rest of the world settles.

In daylight it looks like a little woodland tit. Deep navy on the head and folded wings, creamy white on the cheeks, and a bright canary chest. The resin has fine ridges that catch the sun like real feathers, and there's a tiny coral-red beak over dark bead eyes. There's a second look too: a sky-blue bird with a pale belly, sitting on a little brown stump. Both are round and compact. More like a visitor than a statue.

When the sun goes down, it wakes up. Leave the switch on, give it six to eight hours of daylight, and the yellow chest glows warm amber for hours. The slim black stake slips into a lawn, a planter, or the edge of a path. A small panel on the side takes in the sun, so there's no cord to hide. And the resin is waterproof, so rain isn't a problem.

It's inspired by songbirds that stay put when the weather turns. Set it where you linger after dinner, among the ferns, beside the roses, or at the edge of the walk. You might find yourself looking over and smiling at that tilted head. After a few evenings of that warm little glow, the garden starts to feel more like home.
